It is second year that CT is working with public organizations in south part of the country on improving livelihood of disabled people. In March CT signed agreement with a new organization- Shodkom on realization of microcredit support for disabled and HIV affected people. Mandate of this organization is representation of interests of physically disabled people in several district of Khatlon region. This cooperation implies that members of this organization will receive small grants (up to $200) for running their own business. For this, interested members have to apply to Shodkom, submit their business plan and prove their credibility and feasibility of the selected business. First year operational expenses will cover Caritas and that is why loans will be with 0% interest rate, but in future Shodkom will charge members to cover its expenses.
