Nowadays scientific developments have led to simple, safe, effective, and faster cures for drug-resistant Tuberculosis (DR-TB) that are endorsed by the World Health Organization. This six-month treatment allows for reducing the length of DR-TB treatment. Unfortunately, this treatment is not still accessible for many people with DR-TB around the world.
In support of the World Health Organization’s Call to Action to accelerate access to shorter DR-TB cures for all, the Fast Track the Cure movement brings communities around the world together to raise our voices to tell world leaders that the new, short DR-TB treatment must be widely adopted and available to all people in need. We are on a mission to:
“Overcome barriers to accessing TB services and advance human rights by raising awareness of the benefits of new and effective DR-TB treatment”
“Strengthen the voice of TB-affected communities and civil society in national and global dialogues by increasing their demand for new and better DR-TB regimens”
“Generate and spread stories from people affected by DR-TB, create opportunities for connection, and, ultimately, save lives”
